Cell phones debate

The argument that is apparently raging over cell phone use in youth today is pretty ridiculous. There is no question that youth text in class and there is no question that is disrupts them but parents still pay the bill at the end of the month and teachers still wont be able to do a thing. If it really becomes a problem which no doubt it will, there are many things that can be done, but need to be in full and not half ass'd. Kids will always find away around half ass efforts. One way this problem can be delt with is if when classes start that the teacher demands all self phones, and if refused have the means to have a pretty hefty punishment and not just sending them down to the office either because everyone knows that's old, and doesn't scare kids anymore. I do however understand that there is a valid argument about cell phones being handy for kids because they usually have calculators, stop watches and note pads to keep notes. But I myself being a 17 youth in attending high school, have never once used any of the functions and really don't think anyone else does either.

  1. Tim, your spelling makes me angry.
    SPELL CHECK IS YOUR FRIIIEEENNDD.

And your idea is good, but seriously, what else can teachers do?
They can really only send you to the office or just give you detention, and you're right, neither of those are overly frightening.

And just fyi, some people do use their functions on their cell phones.. Like me. But whatever.

And this whole thing sounds mean. But it's not meant to be. Sorrrryyyy.
