WOW! I didn't really have any ideas to blog on but obviously still needed to blog, so I decided to google it cause google believe it or not google is the answer to
everything. As I looked through the cabillion different google answers I came across " how to win Rock paper scissors" and felt a certain pull towards the link. The article talks about how male RPS players are more common to use rock at the start and shows how to counter and be the best RPS player you may be. Then it goes on to say that there are actually championships for RPS and the winners are able to win up to 50
THOUSAND dollars. How do people justify giving that much money to a game where it is chance. The money has got to come from somewhere, I don't think I could deal with coughing up 50k to the winner of a RPS game.
Oh my... The picture says that although many people think of it to be a game of chance, it is the same as chess due to the fact its a strategy game. NO! Chess is not just about thinking what someone will do based off personality or facial expressions, or even gender. It's a progressional strategy game, and you base your strategy off of what your opponent has already done. ROCK, PAPER, SCISSORS IS ALL CHANCE!!! I'd like to meet whoever tried to turn this game of chance into strategy and just punch him. Although, someone could try and use the strategies given, it's not 100% guaranteed to make you win. In chess, you can strategize what to do after someone does a certain move that will help you to win. Guaranteed. But not in Rock, Paper, Scissors.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I was able to rant a little bit. Nice blog post idea! I guess Google really is always the answer. :P
I didn't finish reading the whole thing when I made my last comment and now I have to ask how they got their statistics, and what the hell and "spock" is.
ReplyDeleteTim, things of chance have given away much larger amounts of money...What about THE FREAKING LOTTERY?! 56 million was it last week? I think that if they're going to give away money it should atleast generate some kind of revenue, so I guess what I'm trying to say is that it seems a little pointless. I would still win the competition though.
ReplyDeleteSCISSORS!
